Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
• Manage and train warehouse staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety standards in Richards Bay.
• Oversee inventory management, conducting regular stock takes and ensuring accuracy.
• Coordinate with transport providers to schedule and manage outgoing shipments, ensuring timely delivery.
• Implement and enforce strict health and safety procedures within the warehouse environment.
• Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse facility.
• Manage equipment usage and maintenance, including forklifts and other machinery.
• Liaise with procurement and sales teams to ensure inventory levels meet demand.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to inventory or shipments.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in the chemical or a similar hazardous materials industry is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse best practices.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to warehouse operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and standard office software.
• Ability to operate forklift trucks and other warehouse equipment (certification may be required).
• Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects as needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Richards Bay.
