Job summary

Hermanos in Cape Town is seeking a Visual Content Creator to shoot photography and edit short-form vertical video for Instagram and TikTok across three brands.

This hands-on role requires owning gear, coordinating shoots across five locations, and delivering platform-ready content under founders' review, with room to contribute ideas. You will work closely with the founders to sharpen production skills and grow with the group.

Responsibilities

• Content capture: shoots photography and video with camera/phone.
• Video editing: assemble reels, TikToks, Stories; add trends/texts.
• Creative development: pitch ideas, plan monthly content.
• Studio kit management: manage gear and shoots across locations; obtain consent.

We are an established Cape Town grooming and aesthetics group, built over nearly a decade. The group operates three brands across five locations: two barbershop brands and a doctor-led medical aesthetics clinic. Our brands are known for a strong, consistent identity and a loyal client base, and content is central to how we grow them.

Role purpose

We are looking for an ambitious, trend-aware Visual Content Creator who wants to build a strong portfolio across three established brands. This is a hands-on production role, focused on shooting high-quality photography and editing engaging short-form vertical video for Instagram and TikTok as well as occasional long-form landscape content when required. You will work closely with the founders and team, turning creative briefs into finished content and contributing your own ideas. All content is reviewed and approved by the founders before publishing.

Key responsibilities

Content capture

• Shoot sharp, well-framed photography and video using your own camera and smartphone
• Capture services, treatments, team, products, spaces and events across all three brands
• Maintain a consistent standard of lighting, framing and audio on every shoot

Video editing

• Cut, pace and polish raw footage into engaging Reels, TikToks and Stories
• Apply trends, transitions, native-style text and captions
• Edit occasional long-form landscape video when required
• Deliver finished, platform-ready content from creative briefs

Creative development

• Pitch weekly content ideas based on emerging audio trends, formats and platform hooks
• Contribute to monthly content planning with the founders
• Adapt trends to suit each brand's identity

Studio kit and asset management

• Take ownership of our in-house production kit, including microphones and lighting
• Plan and schedule shoots with barbers, practitioners and staff across five locations
• Obtain and file consent from anyone featured in content
• Organise and maintain the group's content library in Google Drive

Equipment and tools

Your gear: you must own and confidently operate a mirrorless or DSLR camera, plus a modern smartphone (iPhone 13 or newer, or Android equivalent) with strong video stabilisation.

Our gear: we provide on-site microphones and basic studio lighting.

Software: daily use of CapCut, Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, plus Lightroom or Photoshop for photo editing. Working knowledge of Canva.

• Confidence on set: comfortable directing people on camera, from clients to medical professionals
• Brand sense: a clear understanding of premium, lifestyle-led branding
• Coachability: you take feedback well, deliver revisions quickly and want to learn advanced production techniques
• Reliability: a punctual self-starter who respects shoot timelines and keeps assets organised

Advantageous

• A qualification in photography, film, media or a related field
• Experience in grooming, beauty, hospitality or lifestyle content
• Own transport and a valid driver's licence
