Placements24 is seeking a visionary Principal Investigator to lead a Genomics research program in Centurion. You will establish the research agenda, build and guide a team, secure funding, and publish high-impact results.

The role requires a Ph.D. or M.D. with a strong publication record, 7+ years of leadership in a lab, and excellence in communication and collaboration to advance genomics research.

Formación

• Ph.D. or M.D. with a distinguished research record in Genomics or Genetics.
• Minimum 7 years leading a research lab with strong publication output.
• Proven track record in securing external research funding.
• Expertise in next-generation sequencing technologies and bioinformatics pipelines.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a research team.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Establish and lead an independent genomics research program.
• Secure competitive research funding from national and international sources.
• Supervise, train, and mentor postdocs, staff, and students.
• Oversee large-scale genomic studies including WGS and transcriptomics.
• Analyse complex genomic datasets using advanced tools and statistics.
• Publish in high-impact journals and present at conferences.
