Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a talented UX/UI Designer to craft intuitive mobile experiences in Port Elizabeth. You will own the design process from research to high-fidelity prototyping, translating user needs into engaging interfaces that drive satisfaction and engagement.

You will collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders in an Agile setting, delivering visually appealing interfaces for iOS and Android and developing scalable design systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in design/HCI.
• 4+ years of UX/UI design experience with a mobile app portfolio.
• Proficiency with Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD or similar tools.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and user-centric UX/UI Designer to craft intuitive and engaging experiences for their mobile applications in Port Elizabeth. You will be responsible for the entire design process, from user research and wireframing to high-fidelity prototyping and visual design. This role requires a deep understanding of user behavior, interaction design principles, and mobile-first design strategies. You will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to translate user needs and business goals into seamless and aesthetically pleasing mobile interfaces that drive user satisfaction and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to gather insights into user needs and pain points.


• Create user personas, journey maps, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to define user flows and app architecture.


• Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for iOS and Android applications, adhering to platform guidelines.


• Develop high-fidelity mockups and design systems that ensure consistency and scalability across the product.


• Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure accurate implementation of designs.


• Iterate on designs based on user feedback, analytics, and market trends to continuously improve the user experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.


• Proven experience (4+ years) as a UX/UI Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing mobile application design.


• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.


• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and usability best practices.


• Experience working in an Agile development environment.


• Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly in Port Elizabeth.
