Placements24 is seeking a Production Chemist for field-based operations in Mahikeng, North West. You will monitor production fluids, develop chemical programs, and perform lab analyses to ensure optimal performance of oil and gas facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in production chemistry, preferably Oil & Gas upstream.
• Strong understanding of water treatment, corrosion and scale formation in production systems.
• Proficiency in laboratory analysis techniques and instrumentation.
• Experience with chemical treatment programs and performance monitoring.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations related to chemical use in industry.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production fluids to identify chemical challenges.
• Develop and implement chemical treatment programs for scale, corrosion and paraffin control.
• Conduct lab analyses and field tests to assess water quality and treatment effectiveness.
• Recommend dosages and methods for chemical applications.
• Troubleshoot production chemistry issues and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers and field staff to optimize injection strategies.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to management.
• Conduct safety training related to chemical handling.
