Sasol Ltd. in Sasolburg, Free State, seeks an experienced Mine Manager to lead our underground coal operations. You will oversee production, safety, and maintenance strategies, ensuring alignment with budgets and regulatory requirements.

The role demands strong leadership, governance, and collaboration with engineering and procurement to deliver reliable tonnage and cost efficiency while developing talent and sustaining world-class safety performance.

Qualifications

• B.Eng / B.Sc Eng / B.Tech in Mining Engineering is required.
• Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competence for Coal Mining is required.
• 9 years underground coal mining experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Ability to lead safety-focused operations in a regulated mining environment.

Responsibilities

• Implements operational projects and ensures engineering compliance in the appointed area.
• Develops and implements SOPs and governance frameworks for mine operations.
• Supervise and manage maintenance and production strategies to optimise cost and output.
• Deliver safe production with budget adherence, including cost control and TCO.
• Lead recruitment, training, coaching and career development for the team.
