Job summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a dependable Diesel Mechanic Assistant for an underground chrome mining site in Limpopo. The role supports qualified diesel mechanics in maintenance, servicing and repairs of diesel-powered mining equipment.

The ideal candidate will have practical mechanical experience, tool proficiency, and a willingness to learn in a demanding underground environment. Candidates must be medically fit and able to relocate if needed.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required and non-negotiable.
• Minimum 2 years' practical experience in chrome or mining environments.
• 2–5 years' operational mechanical/mining experience is advantageous.
• At least 2 years' experience using basic hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist Diesel Mechanics with servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Contribute to preventative maintenance inspections and breakdown repairs.
• Identify, diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults.
• Safely use hand and power tools during tasks.
• Assist with removal, replacement and installation of components.
• Check engines, transmissions, hydraulics, cooling and braking systems.
