Job summary

Valterra Platinum in Limpopo is seeking a General Miner responsible for blasting under MHSA guidelines. The role covers moving personnel, material and ore within the mining area, and contributing to safe, efficient blasting operations on site.

You will assist the mining team, manage explosives, and prepare blasting areas to standard. A valid blasting certificate for underground hard rock and 1–3 years' experience are preferred; contract position based at Borwa Mine, Burgersfort.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12/NQF 3 Rock Breaker cert or blasting certificate for underground hard rock.
• 1 to 3 years' experience in underground blasting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move personnel, materials, and ore within the mining area.
• Manage explosives and prepare blasting areas to standard for safe blasting.
• Contribute to the mining team with execution of blasting-related tasks.

Education

Grade 12 National Certificate NQF Level 3 Rock Breaker or Valid Blasting Certificate for underground (Hard Rock)
