Job summary

Unitrans is seeking an Ultra-heavy Motor Vehicle Driver in Durban to distribute goods to clients. The role requires a Code EC licence with PrDP, and 3 years of ultra-heavy vehicle experience, with weekend/public holiday readiness.

Responsibilities include vehicle preparation, loading/offloading, documentation, and ensuring loads are secured. The position is temporary-fixed term, based in KwaZulu-Natal, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education or national certificate required.
• Code EC driver's licence with valid PrDP is essential.
• Minimum 3 years of ultra-heavy vehicle driving experience.
• Applicants must be 25 years or older.
• Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays.
• Defensive driving techniques are expected.
• Familiarity with vehicle components and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle for trip and operate Ultra heavy duty vehicles.
• Load, transport and offload vehicles and goods.
• Handle documentation and related duties.
• Follow supervisor instructions and safety procedures.
• Work shifts including weekends and public holidays.
• Maintain a clean driving record and criminal record.
• Housekeeping of vehicles, uniforms and PPE.
• Ensure loads are secured and not overloaded per regulations.
• Interact professionally with customers.
