Job summary

Salt is seeking an experienced UK Payroll Specialist to own the monthly payroll process for approximately 180 UK-based employees across multiple entities. The role involves hands-on management and close collaboration with outsourced payroll bureaux to ensure accurate processing, compliance, and smooth month-end operations.

Responsibilities include preparing payroll inputs, resolving discrepancies, reconciling costs, and supporting audits while ensuring PAYE, National Insurance and pension

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance and pension auto-enrolment.
• Experience working with outsourced payroll bureaux.
• Multi-entity payroll experience is advantageous.
• Good Excel and payroll systems experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly payroll cycle across UK entities.
• Prepare and review payroll inputs and liaise with outsourced payroll bureaux.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Reconcile payroll costs and assist with month-end journals.
• Ensure compliance with UK PAYE, National Insurance and pension requirements.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and support reporting and audits.
