Job summary

Independent Communications Authority of SA invites applications for a fixed-term Type Approval Manager. The role ensures ICT equipment complies with national standards and frequencies, reporting to the Manager: TypeApproval.

Responsibilities include issuing certificates, processing applications, invoicing, and updating regulatory frameworks. The candidate should hold an engineering degree (Electrical or Electronic) at NQF 7/8 with extensive telecom sector experience and the ability to manage

Qualifications

• Undergraduate qualification in Engineering (Electrical or Electronic) at NQF Level 7 or 8.
• 8 years of telecommunications experience, with at least 3 years in Type Approval Management, or 4 years as a Type Approval Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Process and issue type approval certificates and amendments.
• Assist in processing applications with technical specifications, test reports, user manuals and compliance documentation.
• Submit registered work to Finance for invoicing and tracking.
• Issue certificates for approved equipment and provisional letters of Authority.
• Publish Official List Regulations and propose updates for standards.
• Implement and revise the Type Approval Framework to align with best practices.
