Job summary

Humankind Group in Sandton is seeking an experienced Treasury Operations Manager to lead liquidity, funding, FX and Treasury processes in a complex corporate setting.

You will partner with executives, banks and key stakeholders to optimise liquidity and funding, implement controls, and drive automation and AI-enabled treasury initiatives. The role requires a postgraduate finance qualification with at least 10 years in treasury and 5 years in leadership.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead front- and back-office Treasury operations.
• Manage funding, liquidity and cash-flow requirements across the Group.
• Oversee FX exposure management and risk mitigation.
• Manage Treasury-related payments and cross-border transactions.
• Ensure SARB Exchange Control compliance.
• Develop rolling cash-flow forecasts and financial models.
• Optimise liquidity position and funding mix.
• Develop and implement Treasury policies and procedures.

Are you an experienced Treasury professional with strong expertise across liquidity, funding, foreign exchange and Treasury operations? Our client is looking for a strategic and hands‑on Treasury Operations Manager to join their Group Treasury team in Sandton.

This is a senior opportunity for someone who can lead Treasury Operations while partnering with key stakeholders across the business, banking institutions and executive‑level forums. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening liquidity management, funding strategies, FX risk management and Treasury processes within a complex corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee front‑office and back‑office Treasury operations.
• Manage funding, liquidity and cash‑flow requirements across the Group.
• Oversee foreign exchange management, including FX exposure and risk mitigation.
• Manage Treasury‑related operational payments and cross‑border transactions.
• Ensure compliance with SARB Exchange Control regulations and relevant Treasury requirements.
• Develop and maintain rolling cash‑flow forecasts and financial models.
• Optimise the Group's liquidity position and funding mix.
• Develop and implement Treasury mandates, policies and procedures.
• Identify, report and manage Treasury risks, non‑compliance and deviations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with banking institutions and financial partners.
• Provide Treasury reporting and insights to senior management, Exco, Board committees and other stakeholders.
• Engage with rating agencies and support relevant Treasury reporting requirements.
• Drive Treasury automation, digitalisation and the adoption of AI technologies.
• Lead, develop and manage the Treasury Operations team.

Minimum Requirements

• Postgraduate qualification in Finance or a related field.
• CFA, ACTSA or similar Treasury accreditation will be advantageous.
• Minimum 10 years' experience within a Treasury environment, ideally within a multinational or large corporate environment.
• Minimum 5 years' Treasury leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of global financial markets, liquidity management and financial instruments.
• Proven experience with transactional banking and investments.
• Practical experience using a Treasury Management System (TMS).
• Strong understanding of FX, funding and liquidity risk management.
• Practical knowledge of SARB Exchange Control regulations and cross‑border transactions.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment.
