Job summary

Placements24 in Randburg, Gauteng, seeks an experienced Clinical Psychologist specializing in trauma and bereavement. You will conduct assessments, diagnose, and provide evidence-based therapies to individuals, couples, and families dealing with loss and trauma.

The role requires HPCSA registration, a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, and at least six years of post-doctoral trauma experience. You will collaborate with other health professionals and contribute to community outreach

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PhD/PsyD).
• Current HPCSA registration as Clinical Psychologist.
• Minimum of 6 years post-doctoral trauma/bereavement experience.
• Expertise in PTSD and complicated grief.
• Proficiency in diagnostic, assessment, and clinical intervention skills.
• Strong interpersonal and report-writing abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
• Experience in crisis intervention.
• Willingness to engage with community outreach in Randburg.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive trauma and bereavement assessments for individuals and families.
• Deliver evidence-based therapies including EMDR, CBT, and exposure-based approaches.
• Provide individual, couples, and family therapy for trauma and loss.
• Facilitate support groups for clients facing similar challenges.
• Offer crisis intervention and ongoing support as needed.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and doctors for integrated care.
• Maintain accurate confidential records and prepare reports.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to materials/workshops.
