Training Force: Apply For 2026 ECD Learnership Opportunities – Training Force is now accepting applications for the 2026 ECD Learnership Programme. This opportunity is for young South Africans who want to build a career in childcare and education.

This learnership allows you to study and gain real work experience at the same time. You do not need to pay for studies. Instead, you are trained while working in a real environment such as a crèche, preschool, or daycare centre.

What Is Early Childhood Development?

Early Childhood Development (ECD) focuses on caring for and teaching young children, usually from birth to five years old. These are very important years because children learn how to speak, think, play, and interact with others.

During this learnership, you will be trained to:

• Help children learn through play
• Teach basic skills like counting, drawing, and storytelling
• Support children’s emotional and social development
• Keep children safe, clean, and supervised
• Assist teachers with daily classroom activities
• Prepare simple learning materials and games

You will not only study theory, but you will also practice these skills every day while working with children.

This programme is designed to support unemployed youth who want to gain skills but cannot afford college fees.

If you are accepted, you will receive:

• A monthly stipend of about R3,500 to R5,000
• Practical work experience in an ECD centre
• An NQF Level 4 qualification in Early Childhood Development
• Training that usually lasts 12 months
• No study fees, because the programme is funded

The monthly allowance helps you cover transport, meals, and other daily expenses while you learn.

Who Should Apply?

You do not need experience. The programme will teach you everything you need to know.

ECD centres work with children, so they must ensure safety at all times. Many employers will ask for a Police Clearance Certificate before you start practical training.
