Job summary

Samancor Chrome in Middelburg invites applications for a Training and Development Facilitator (Diesel Mechanic) to coordinate and deliver Apprentice and Engineering training for the Diesel Mechanic trade. The role focuses on on-the-job delivery, safety, and alignment with SETA requirements.

You will develop training material, conduct assessments and moderation, maintain EBMS records, and support workshop safety and discipline while contributing to facility expansion and community skills

Qualifications

• Demonstrate knowledge of learning management systems.
• Experience facilitating training in mining/smelting environments is desirable.
• Proven ability to develop and assess training material and programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver Apprentice and Engineering training for Diesel Mechanic Trade.
• Conduct Diesel Mechanic trade related training (Apprenticeship, Short courses, on the job training).
• Assist with development of new training material, update existing training materials and programs.
• Conduct Assessments.
• Conduct Moderation – 10% of trade test assessments and cross moderation of all POE’s.
• Conduct and coordinate trade tests, ensuring quality outcome.
• Ensure all relevant training material is updated and saved on EBMS.
• Maintain safety as per Samancor Chrome standard in workshops at all times.
• Ensure discipline is managed in workshops/area of responsibility.
• Responsible for maintenance of workshop, equipment, and tools.
• Provide input with regards to the expansion of facilities to comply with Engineering / QCTO training requirements.
• Ensure alignment with SETA requirements.
• Maintain applicable procedures for processes in area of responsibility.
• Assist with budget inputs.
• Assist in community projects - skills upliftment.
• Assist with auditing and reporting when required.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Coordinate and deliver Apprentice and Engineering training for Diesel Mechanic Trade

• Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
• Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk
• Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
• Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status
