Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Trainee Boilermaker to join their Rustenburg-based industrial operations. This apprenticeship provides hands-on training in fabricating, assembling, and installing boilers, tanks and large metal structures under the guidance of experienced tradespeople.

You will learn to read blueprints, operate grinders, cutting torches and welding equipment, and develop skills in measurement, safety and quality control.

• Strong interest in metalwork.
• Good physical condition and ability to work in various industrial environments.
• Basic understanding of measurement and mathematics.
• Willingness to learn and follow complex technical instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the fabrication and assembly of metal components for boilers, vessels, and structures.
• Learn to interpret technical drawings and blueprints to guide fabrication processes.
• Operate tools and machinery such as grinders, cutting torches, and welding equipment under supervision.
• Perform fitting and tack-welding operations to prepare components for final welding.
• Ensure all work adheres to strict quality control standards and safety regulations.
• Participate in scheduled training sessions and on-the-job skill development activities.
