South Deep is recruiting a Trackless Crew Leader to deliver safe and efficient monthly production, leading teams to achieve safety and quality standards at the South Deep Gold Mine.

Role requires at least 5 years in a deep level trackless mine, TM3 certificates, and strong safety leadership. Applicants must meet MHSA requirements and be medically fit for the environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Recognized Blasting Certificate.
• TM3 equipment certificates.
• At least 5 years’ production experience in a deep level trackless mine.
• Sound knowledge of Mine Health & Safety legislation.
• Medical fitness including Heat Tolerance Screening and related tests.

Responsabilités

• Provide and maintain a safe environment with minimum health and safety risks.
• Ensure compliance with Mines Health & Safety Act and safety standards.
• Accurate and timely reporting of safety and production matters.
• Promote and develop team effectiveness within the department.
• Meet production targets while enforcing discipline in the section.
• Ensure availability and proper utilization of equipment and materials.
• Control explosives and ensure planning and budget are applied correctly.

POSITION: Trackless Crew Leader

JOB GRADING: C – Lower

DEPARTMENT: Mining

SITE: South Deep Gold Mine

The Trackless Crew Leader is accountable for executing the safe and efficient delivery of assigned monthly production plan, leading operational teams to achieve prescribed safely goals and ensuring quality delivery according to operational standards.

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Recognized Blasting Certificate
• At least 5 years’ production experience in a deep level trackless mine with relevant TM3 equipment/machinery certificates
• Sound working knowledge of relevant Mine Health & Safety legislation
• Secure full Gold Fields Security and Related Occupational Screening
• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment

• Advanced safety leadership capability with proven safety campaign delivery record
• Accomplished team and people leader
• Strong inter and intra-team collaboration skills
• Advanced practical mining experience with sound appreciation for full mining operational value chain
• Sound spoken and written English communication skills
• Ability to cope with ambiguity with high personal resilience and change adaptability
• Established problem-solving skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Providing and maintaining a safe environment with minimum risk to the health and safety of the crew
• Ensuring compliance to the Mines Health & Safety Act and related operational safety standards
• Accurate and timeous reporting of all relevant safety and production matters
• Promoting and developing team effectiveness within the department
• Ensuring that all relevant production targets are met continuouslyTaking accountability for proper discipline in the section
• Ensuring effective availability and utilization of equipment and materials
• Ensuring control of explosives and that planning and budget is controlled and applied correctly
