Placements24, on behalf of a client in Rustenburg, seeks a Cybersecurity Analyst specialized in threat detection to join its on-site Security Operations Center. You will monitor alerts, investigate incidents, and contribute to defense strategies to protect financial systems.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity/CS/IT with 3–5 years in threat detection or SOC, and proficiency with SIEM tools. On-site work in North West is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, CS, IT or related discipline.
• 3–5 years experience in threat detection, incident response or SOC.
• Proficient with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm).
• Experience with IDS/IPS and network security tools.
• Knowledge of threat intelligence and common attack vectors.
• Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Monitor security alerts and events from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR systems.
• Investigate incidents to determine scope, cause, and impact.
• Lead or contribute to incident response and containment efforts.
• Develop and refine threat detection rules and correlations.
• Stay updated on emerging threats and cybersecurity trends.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement fixes.
