Recruitpro Solutions in Modderfontein seeks a Test Development Engineer to join the engineering software team. You will conduct manual and automated testing to ensure reliability and quality before release, using Playwright and strong C, Golang and Python skills daily.

You will develop test cases, automate regression scripts, review requirements, and collaborate with Software Development, Engineering and Quality teams to improve testing efficiency and product quality.

Qualifications

• Degree in software engineering, computer science, or related field.
• 1–3 years’ experience in software testing, test development or automation.
• Practical experience with manual software testing.
• Knowledge of Playwright or similar automation framework.
• Strong C programming skills.
• Knowledge of Golang; Python advantageous.
• Experience with Git/version control.
• Understanding of software development and testing lifecycles.

A well-established industrial company in Modderfontein is looking for a Test Development Engineer to join its engineering software team. You’ll do both manual and automated testing to make sure the engineering software works properly, is reliable and is of good quality before release. You’ll write automated tests in Playwright and put strong C, Golang and Python skills to work every day.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run manual test cases based on software requirements
• Do functional, regression, integration and exploratory testing
• Identify, document and verify software defects
• Design, develop and maintain automated tests using Playwright
• Convert suitable manual tests into automated regression tests
• Analyse test failures and help find root causes
• Develop test utilities and scripts in C and other relevant languages
• Review requirements and contribute to test planning and coverage
• Work closely with the Software Development, Engineering and Quality teams
• Keep test documentation up to date and give feedback on software quality
• Find ways to make testing more efficient through automation

Minimum requirements

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field
• 1–3 years’ experience in software testing, test development or automation
• Practical experience with manual software testing
• Some knowledge of Playwright or a similar automation framework
• Strong C programming skills
• Some knowledge of Golang (Python is advantageous)
• Experience with software debugging and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Git/version control
• Understanding of the software development and testing lifecycles
