Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Software Test Engineer to join our Soweto QA team. The role focuses on designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans ensuring reliability, performance, and safety of automotive software systems.

You will work with software developers and system engineers to build test strategies, create test scripts, and maintain automation frameworks while contributing to process improvements and quality assurance excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience as Software Test Engineer with embedded/automotive software.
• Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute detailed manual and automated test cases for automotive software components and systems.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems.
• Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing.
• Collaborate with software developers and systems engineers to understand software requirements and design test strategies.
• Create and maintain test scripts and test automation frameworks.
• Analyze test results, generate reports, and communicate findings to the project team.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software testing processes and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience as a Software Test Engineer , with a focus on embedded systems or automotive software.
• Proficiency in developing test cases and executing them in a systematic manner.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
