Job summary

Penta Consulting is seeking 4 hands-on Test Automation Engineers for a 12-month hybrid role based in Stellenbosch. You will design and maintain enterprise-grade mobile automation frameworks, focusing on Appium/WebdriverIO, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.

The role targets engineers who can automate both mobile and web tests, collaborate with stakeholders, and continuously enhance automation best practices in a fast-paced delivery environment.

We're Hiring: Test Automation Engineers (4 Positions)

Working Model: Hybrid (3-4 days on-site per week)

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Level: Intermediate & Senior Consultants

We are currently seeking 4 highly skilled Test Automation Engineers to join a long-term project based in Stellenbosch. This opportunity is ideal for automation specialists who are passionate about building, enhancing, and maintaining robust automation solutions rather than simply executing existing automated test suites.

Key Technical Requirements

Mobile Application Automation Experience (Non-Negotiable)

• Practical experience with Appium, WebdriverIO, or equivalent mobile automation frameworks
• Proven experience automating mobile applications in enterprise environments

Strongly Preferred

• Experience automating both web and native mobile applications
• Android and/or iOS automation experience
• CI/CD pipeline integration and automated test execution
• Experience designing, building, or contributing to automation frameworks
• Strong understanding of test automation best practices

Stakeholder & Communication Skills

We're looking for consultants who can:

• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Clearly explain automation strategies and technical challenges
• Build strong working relationships across project teams
• Work collaboratively within fast-paced delivery environments

What Makes This Role Different?

This is not a traditional test execution role. We need engineers who are genuinely hands-on automation developers, capable of creating and maintaining automation frameworks and solutions.

Mobile automation is a core requirement, not a "nice-to-have". Candidates with strong Playwright experience but limited practical Appium or mobile automation exposure are unlikely to be suitable.
