You will work with engineering, operations, commercial and project functions to develop competitive, compliant tenders and drive business growth. A strong background in estimating and tendering is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in tendering, estimating, commercial management or project controls.
• Strong costing methodologies and financial modelling knowledge.

• Knowledge of NEC/FIDIC contracts would be advantageous.

Globe 24-7, in partnership with a leading mining services company, is seeking an experienced individualto join their team in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Tendering Manager with strong expertise in estimating, costing, tender management and commercial proposal development within the mining, construction, engineering or related sectors.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the end-to-end tendering lifecycle, from bid/no-bid assessment and cost estimation through to pricing, proposal development, submission and commercial review.

This role will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, operations, commercial and project functions to develop competitive, commercially sound and compliant tenders.

The Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the end-to-end tendering and estimating process, ensuring high-quality and timely submissions.
• Manage the preparation, coordination and submission of competitive tender and proposal documentation.
• Direct project costing, estimating and pricing, ensuring commercially viable and competitive bids.
• Develop and review cost estimates, financial models, assumptions and pricing strategies.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary tender teams across engineering, operations, commercial and project functions.
• Review tender requirements, contractual conditions, risks, assumptions and commercial exposures.
• Ensure tender submissions comply with client requirements, contractual obligations and internal governance standards.
• Contribute to bid/no-bid decisions, tender pipeline management and business development activities.
• Maintain estimating systems, historical cost data, databases and tendering methodologies.
• Monitor tender performance, success rates and pipeline opportunities.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders throughout the tender and clarification process.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing tendering and estimating team.
• Drive continuous improvement in tendering, estimating and proposal processes.

The Requirements

• 10+ years' experience within mining, mining services, shaft sinking, underground construction, EPCM, construction or a related sector.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in tendering, estimating, commercial management or project controls.
• Proven track record managing complex mining or infrastructure tenders.
• Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of costing methodologies, estimating, financial modelling and cost/schedule risk analysis.
• Experience developing competitive project pricing and commercial proposals.
• Working knowledge of NEC and FIDIC contracts would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of project execution and construction planning.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary tender or estimating teams.
• Strong business development and client engagement capabilities.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and proficiency in relevant project planning/estimating tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's licence and passport.
• Medically fit and able to meet applicable site/client screening requirements.
