Placements24 seeks a skilled Telecoms Field Technician to install, maintain, and repair telecoms equipment at customer sites and network facilities in Durban. You will be the on-site face of our client, ensuring reliable service and high customer satisfaction while working independently in varied field conditions.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical aptitude, experience with copper and fiber optics, and proficiency with diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications in telecommunications or electronics are a plus.
• Experience as Telecoms Field Technician or similar hands-on technical role.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment (fiber, routers, modems, base stations).
• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on network infrastructure and customer premises equipment.
• Troubleshoot issues to minimize service disruptions.
• Respond to service calls efficiently and professionally.
• Ensure installations meet company standards and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and time spent.
