Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Telecommunications Network Specialist to join a fully remote team. You will ensure day-to-day operation, maintenance, and enhancement of a robust telecoms network with focus on availability, performance, and security.

You will work with Cisco/Juniper hardware, manage VPNs, and implement security measures while collaborating virtually with a skilled team to drive strategic evolution of the company’s communication systems.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in telecommunications network operations and support.
• Proficiency with Cisco and Juniper hardware and related network tech.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing (OSPF/BGP), and switching.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability; identify and resolve issues proactively.
• Configure, install, and upgrade routers, switches, firewalls, and other devices.
• Implement and manage network security measures including VPNs and IDS/IPS.
• Troubleshoot complex network problems with vendors and internal teams.
• Create and maintain topology diagrams and configuration standards.
• Participate in capacity planning and network performance optimization.
• Respond to alerts and incidents to minimize service disruption.
