Placements24 is seeking a Telecommunications Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain complex telecom networks in the Paarl region. The role blends on-site fieldwork for installations, upgrades and repairs with remote planning, monitoring and analysis from a home office.

You will work with fiber optic and wireless systems, ensuring reliability, performance and security for diverse clients. CCNA/CCNP are advantageous; a hybrid work model is offered with travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience as Telecommunications Network Engineer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, routers, switches, firewalls.
• Experience with fiber optic and wireless systems.
• Proficient with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

About the Role

Our client, a leading telecommunications infrastructure provider, is seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Network Engineer with a focus on field support to join their operations in the Paarl, Western Cape area. This dynamic role involves the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex telecommunications networks, including fiber optic and wireless systems. You will be responsible for ensuring network reliability, performance, and security for a variety of clients. This position utilizes a hybrid work model, combining essential on-site fieldwork for installations, upgrades, and emergency repairs with remote planning, monitoring, and analysis from a home office. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of network protocols, hardware, and best practices, coupled with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in both independent and team environments.
