Job summary

Placements24 currently seeks a Telecommunications Infrastructure Technician to support Mossel Bay operations. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic networks, wireless equipment, and related infrastructure across the region.

You will perform site surveys, install and test cabling and equipment, troubleshoot faults, and ensure safety and quality standards are met while coordinating with project managers and field teams. Flexible hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in telecommunications infrastructure installation and maintenance.
• Experience with fiber optic cable installation, splicing, and testing.
• Familiarity with various telecommunications network equipment and technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret network diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Experience with wireless communication systems installation is an advantage.
• Relevant technical certifications in telecommunications or fiber optics are preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety protocols for working at heights and in various environments.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, in and around Mossel Bay, Western Cape.
