Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecom Security Analyst in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga to bolster cybersecurity for a major telecom provider. You will protect network infrastructure and customer data, analyze vulnerabilities, and develop robust defense strategies.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in network security, threat intelligence and incident response within telecommunications, with hands-on experience deploying SIEM, IDS/IPS and firewalls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Cybersecurity, IT, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years in cybersecurity with focus on network security and threat analysis in telecom.
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, security principles and attack vectors.
• Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls and endpoint security tools.
• Understanding of threat intelligence and incident response methodologies.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001, GDPR; relevant certifications preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic and security logs for suspicious activities and breaches.
• Analyze vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures and remediation plans.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Respond to security incidents and provide post-incident analysis.
• Conduct regular security assessments and penetration tests on network infrastructure.
• Stay current with cyber threats, trends and technologies in telecom.
• Implement and manage security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM).
• Collaborate with IT and network teams to embed security across infrastructure.
• Provide security awareness training to employees.
