About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and skilled Telecom Network Security Specialist to enhance their security posture in Polokwane . This role is critical for protecting the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of the company's telecommunications network against evolving threats. You will be responsible for implementing and managing security measures, monitoring for potential breaches, and responding to security incidents. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of network security principles, relevant technologies, and a proactive approach to safeguarding critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and maintain network security devices such as firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), and VPN gateways.
• Monitor network traffic for security breaches, malicious activity, and policy violations using security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures across the telecommunications network.
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and remediate weaknesses.
• Respond to security incidents, investigate their root cause, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Stay current with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies to proactively update defenses.
