Job summary

Placements24 in Benoni is seeking a meticulous Telecom Installation Technician to join our hands-on team for the deployment and setup of telecommunications equipment for business clients. You will ensure installations are completed efficiently, accurately, and to the highest standards, creating a strong first impression of our services.

You will install and configure hardware, test systems, troubleshoot on-site issues, read diagrams, keep work areas tidy, and train clients on new equipment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Installation Technician, preferably in telecoms or IT.
• Familiarity with network cabling standards and termination techniques.
• Understanding of routers, switches, and access points.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure telecom hardware including phone systems, routers, modems, and cabling.
• Perform testing and QA after installation to ensure full functionality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve on-site installation issues.
• Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment at client sites and in the company vehicle.
• Provide basic client training on new equipment.
