Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Field Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair telecom equipment across the Soweto area. You will work directly with customers, ensuring reliable connectivity and high service quality while handling equipment in customers’ premises and on-site infrastructure.

The role requires 1–2 years in field service or telecom support, solid networking knowledge, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi standards).
1–2 years in field service/technical support, ideally telecoms.
Experience with installation/troubleshooting of broadband tech (DSL, Fibre, Fixed Wireless).
Ability to read/interpret technical diagrams and service orders.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are essential.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and troubleshoot broadband services at customer locations.
Perform maintenance and repairs on telecom infrastructure for uptime.
Diagnose issues related to signal strength, connectivity, and equipment faults.
Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures.
Provide clear, courteous customer support and explain issues/resolutions.
Document all service calls, work performed, parts used, and interactions in the system.
