Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Telecom Cloud Engineer to join a fully remote team supporting operations in Polokwane and beyond, contributing to resilient cloud platforms.

You will design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure for telecom workloads on AWS, Azure, and GCP; implement IaC with Terraform/Ansible; and use Docker and Kubernetes.

This role emphasizes security, scalability, and collaboration with development and operations teams to optimize performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/Engineering.
• At least 6 years in cloud engineering with telecom infrastructure focus.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP services.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Scripting (Python, Bash) and IaC (Terraform, Ansible).
• Solid networking and cloud security fundamentals.
• Ability to work fully remote in a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, focusing on telecom specific workloads .
• Implement and maintain containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and automate cloud deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of cloud environments through best practices and proactive monitoring.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to optimize application performance and deployment in the cloud.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to cloud infrastructure and telecom applications hosted within the cloud.

Requirements
