Qualifications

• Several years in field service or technical support, Installation & Maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and networking related to equipment.

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel in Durban and surrounding areas.
• Clear communication of technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installations and configurations at client locations.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues to restore function quickly.
• Execute preventative maintenance to maximize uptime and performance.
• Provide expert technical assistance and guidance to end users.
• Document service activities, findings, and resolutions in the CRM.
• Manage van stock of parts and tools for efficient service delivery.

About the Role

This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliable operation of our client's specialized equipment at customer premises across KwaZulu-Natal . You will be responsible for a broad range of activities from initial setup and integration to troubleshooting and repair, acting as a key point of contact for technical client needs. The ideal candidate possesses a robust technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a dedication to providing high-level support in a dynamic, field-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex installations and configurations of systems on-site at client locations.
• Conduct in-depth troubleshooting and diagnostics to resolve technical malfunctions promptly.
• Execute preventative maintenance schedules to ensure maximum uptime and performance of equipment.
• Provide expert technical assistance and guidance to end-users, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
• Document all service activities, findings, and resolutions accurately in the company's CRM system.
• Maintain and manage a van stock of essential parts and tools for efficient service delivery.

Requirements

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
• Several years of experience in a field service or technical support role, specifically within Installation & Maintenance .
• Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and networking principles as they relate to the equipment.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and be prepared for regular travel throughout the Durban area and province.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
