Job summary

Ioco in Johannesburg is seeking a Technical Solutions Consultant to drive Microsoft 365 transformation and cloud migrations. You’ll engage with customers, design solutions, and lead migration activities across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Teams in a hybrid environment.

The role requires hands-on experience with migration tools and security/compliance considerations, strong scripting via PowerShell, and the ability to produce clear technical documentation and runbooks for

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 and cloud migrations.
• Hands-on experience with tenant-to-tenant migrations and workload migrations.
• Proven customer-facing consulting and workshop delivery.
• Strong problem-solving and technical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to Microsoft 365 migration discovery and technical design.
• Deliver tenant-to-tenant migrations across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, identities, domains and permissions.
• Configure and operate migration platforms such as Quest/Binary Tree, AvePoint and ShareGate.
• Plan and execute pilot migrations, testing, cutovers and remediation.
• Designing and configuring Microsoft Purview, including sensitivity labels, information protection, DLP, retention, records management, content search and eDiscovery.
• Working with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, identity synchronisation and hybrid environments.
• Using PowerShell for administration, automation, validation and reporting.
• Facilitating customer workshops and communicating technical solutions and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Producing high-quality technical documentation, migration plans, runbooks and handover materials.
• Contributing to our migration methodologies, reusable tools, scripts and delivery standards.
• Sharing knowledge and supporting the development of junior consultants

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work across the full consulting lifecycle — from discovery and solution design through migration, cutover, remediation and handover.

We’re looking for someone with 3–7+ years of experience working with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Entra ID and related cloud technologies in a consulting or enterprise environment.

You should have practical experience in:

• Microsoft 365 tenant‑to‑tenant and workload migrations
• Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams
• Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory
• Microsoft Purview and information governance
• PowerShell administration and automation
• Migration planning, testing, cutover and remediation

Certifications

Required:

• Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals

• Risk and Issue Management: Identifying potential risks and issues related to the solution architecture and developing mitigation strategies to address them. This helps in minimizing disruptions during the implementation phase.
• Integration and Testing: Ensuring that the solution integrates seamlessly with existing systems and conducting thorough testing to validate its functionality and performance.
• Compliance and Security: Ensuring that the solution complies with relevant regulations and security standards. This includes conducting security assessments and implementing necessary controls to protect the solution from potential threats.
