Job summary

Mindcor-InterSearch is seeking a Senior Technical Product Owner in Johannesburg on a hybrid basis to lead core banking, credit, cards, payments, ATM and POS platforms. You will drive Temenos/T24 deployment playbooks, establish standards, and guide multi-country rollouts within a major banking transformation programme.

You will manage cross-functional teams, prioritise backlogs, and partner with engineering and vendors to ensure platform governance, stability and compliant delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of technology experience in banking or FS.
• Leadership of multidisciplinary tech teams.
• Hands-on Temenos/T24 in a core banking environment.
• Experience with core banking upgrades, migrations or multi-country rollouts.
• Exposure to card issuing, payments, ATM and POS tech.
• Relevant architecture or Agile programme certifications advantageous.

Technical Product Owner - Core Banking & Payments

A senior technology leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Technical Product Owner to lead critical banking technology platforms across core banking, credit, cards, payments, ATM and POS capabilities.

Working within a major banking transformation programme, you will play a central role in the deployment of Temenos/T24, establishing the standards, delivery model and rollout playbook for future implementations across multiple markets.

Key Focus Areas:

• Own the Temenos/T24 platform deployment model and establish the playbook for future country rollouts.
• Provide technical product ownership across Core Banking, Credit, Cards & Payments, ATM and POS capabilities.
• Manage technical backlogs, prioritisation, release planning, and delivery in partnership with engineering teams and technology vendors.
• Drive platform integration, straight-through processing, and data migration across the technology landscape.
• Lead cross-country process standardisation and application rationalisation around the core platform.
• Build and lead a high-performing technical product team.
• Ensure platform stability, performance, governance, risk and compliance throughout the rollout lifecycle.

Experience & Qualifications:

• 10+ years' technology experience within banking, financial services, payments, or another complex enterprise environment.
• Significant leadership experience managing multidisciplinary technology teams.
• Hands-on experience with Temenos/T24 (Temenos Transact) within a core banking environment.
• Proven experience with core banking implementations, upgrades, migrations, or multi-country rollouts.
• Strong exposure to card issuing and card management, payments, ATM and POS technology.
• Strong vendor, stakeholder, and delivery management capability.
• Relevant degree such as BSc Computer Science, BCom Informatics, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Relevant architecture, Agile or programme management certifications such as TOGAF, Leading SAFe, PMI/PMBOK or PRINCE2 would be advantageous.
