Job summary

Talent Evolution (Pty) Ltd in Johannesburg seeks an experienced Technical Manager to lead the strategic and operational management of all technical building assets, systems and infrastructure within a major shopping centre. This role demands hands-on technical facility management and strong contractor oversight.

You will ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation, manage budgets and compliance with OHS and building regulations, and drive maintenance and project programs to protect long‑term

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Technical or Facilities Management role within a regional or super-regional shopping centre.
• Strong experience in building maintenance and technical asset management.
• Experience with building management systems and technical reporting.
• Experience managing contractors, service providers and technical projects.
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, OHS requirements and building regulations.
• Experience managing technical Capex and Opex budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic and operational management of all technical building assets, systems and infrastructure within a major shopping centre.
• Ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation while protecting long‑term asset value.
• Oversee contractor, compliance, maintenance and project management activities, including budgeting and reporting.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Technical Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Facilities Management Diploma will be an advantage.
• OHS training/certifications.
• NQF Level 6.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Technical or Facilities Management role within a regional or super-regional shopping centre.
• Strong experience in building maintenance and technical asset management.
• Proven experience managing contractors, service providers and technical projects.
