Job summary

Wheco is seeking an Assistant Technician to join its Security and Investigations team in South Africa. The role focuses on installing CCTV, alarms, access control, intercoms, and performing maintenance and repairs on security systems.

Ideal candidates bring practical electrical knowledge, basic programming skills, strong communication, and a customer‑focused, detail‑oriented mindset to deliver reliable security solutions.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Wireman.
• Valid PSIRA Grade C registration.

Responsibilities

• Install CCTV, alarm, access control, and intercom systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on security systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and technical faults.
• Upgrade existing security systems to improve performance.
• Ensure all installations comply with electrical and safety standards.
• Collaborate with security managers, IT teams, and fellow technicians.
