Job summary

EY-Parthenon in Johannesburg seeks a Manager in Deal Management within the Software Strategy Group to advise on technology due diligence, carve-outs and integrations in M&A. You’ll lead engagement teams, interface with CIOs/CTOs/CISOs and senior stakeholders to deliver end-to-end insights across technology, cyber, data and architecture.

You’ll train junior members, shape internal initiatives and work across markets within EY Africa and UK practice, partnering with deal teams to optimise scope,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with ~7–10 years of related work experience.
• Experience in professional services/consulting, ideally within M&A Transactions.
• Broad knowledge of technology functions, including IT, R&D and cyber.
• Experience working with Private Equity and senior IT stakeholders.
• Experience on complex engagements, including delivery, commercials, resourcing and risk.
• Ability to deliver high-quality reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end technology due diligence across the target's tech estate, highlighting risks and value drivers.
• Evaluate carve-out complexity and standalone costs, identifying transitional service needs.
• Advise on separation and integration strategies from sign to close, defining operating models and TSA decisions.
• Develop 100-day integration and transformation plans outlining synergies and value paths.
• Conduct rapid value-creation diagnostics to identify constraints and cost levers.
