Job Purpose:
The incumbent will lead, motivate, and manage a team of Financial Advisors to achieve funeral insurance sales targets and business objectives. The role is responsible for driving sales performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, developing team capability through coaching and training, maintaining high standards of customer service, and implementing sales and marketing initiatives that support sustainable business growth
Job Outputs:
Sales Leadership and Performance Management
- Lead and manage the sales team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Monitor and evaluate individual and team sales performance against agreed objectives.
- Drive sales productivity and profitability through effective planning and execution.
- Develop and implement sales initiatives to increase market penetration and new business acquisition.
- Allocate sales opportunities and leads to the sales team to maximize conversion rates.
- Manage daily sales activities, site visits, and performance reviews.
- Compile, analyse, and distribute sales and productivity reports.
Coaching, Training and Employee Development
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and support to Financial Advisors.
- Identify development needs and implement individual development plans.
- Facilitate employee onboarding and integration into the business.
- Coordinate product, system, compliance, and induction training.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and high performance.
- Implement reward and recognition initiatives to motivate and retain employees.
Recruitment and Talent Management
- Participate in recruitment and selection processes for sales staff.
- Support workforce planning and succession management initiatives.
- Ensure the appointment of suitably qualified and competent representatives.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with Fit and Proper requirements
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with FAIS, FICA, TCF, POPIA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and manage complaints in line with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Ensure all representatives operate within regulatory and governance frameworks.
- Manage supervision processes for representatives where required.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews on new business submissions.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all sales documentation.
Operational and Financial Management
- Assist in preparing branch budgets, financial reports, and performance information.
- Monitor business quality and persistency to ensure sustainable growth.
- Support branch operational planning and performance management activities.
- Manage branch sales administration and reporting requirements.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders and service providers to ensure efficient service delivery.
Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement
- Implement branch marketing plans and sales campaigns.
- Collaborate with branch teams to execute member activations and awareness initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Arrange and coordinate product presentations with insurers and business partners.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within allocated markets.
- Support the execution of strategic sales initiatives to enhance growth and customer acquisition.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- National Senior Certificate (Matric)
- National Senior Certificate (Matric).
- FSCA-recognised qualification.
- Regulatory Examination (RE5).
- Regulatory Examination for Key Individuals (RE1) (Advantageous)
- Relevant qualification in Financial Services, Business Management, Sales, or a related field.
- Valid Code EB driver's licence
- Minimum 2 years' experience in sales management or team leadership.
- Minimum 2 years' experience within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Minimum 2 years' experience coaching and managing sales teams.
- Minimum 1 year experience in administration and reporting.
- Experience in Funeral Insurance sales will be advantageous.
- Code EB; Articulated motor vehicle license
