Job description

Specialist & Leadership Teachers — Abu Dhabi, UAE

Posted by WhiteCrow Research · Recruiting on behalf of a prestigious school in Abu Dhabi, UAE

Teach in the UAE · Tax-free salary · In-person interviews in Cape Town and Johannesburg, September 2026

We are recruiting a range of specialist teachers and middle leaders on behalf of a well-funded, government-backed school in Abu Dhabi. If you teach Art, Computing, ICT, Artificial Intelligence or Business Studies — or if you are ready to step into a Head of Department role — we want to hear from you.

Why this opportunity stands out

  • Tax-free including housing, with significant increments based on experience. Middle leaders receive an additional monthly leadership stipend.
  • Tax-free earnings — no personal income tax in the UAE.
  • Housing allowance of AED 5,000–8,000 per month, paid separately on top of salary and set by family status.
  • Annual flight allowance covering you, a spouse and up to two school-age children.
  • Health insurance, extending to dependents.
  • Education allowance of AED 27,000 per child per year (max two children).
  • End-of-service gratuity under UAE law.
  • Visa, Emirates ID, inbound flight and two weeks' serviced four-star accommodation on arrival — all arranged and paid by the school.
  • Fully funded CPD with protected timetable time — circa 20 to 25 hours a year, plus a dedicated leadership allocation for middle leaders.
  • Teaching load capped at 22 lessons of 45 minutes a week. Class sizes under 24.
  • Monday to Friday week.
  • Annual performance bonus of 78%–150% of one month's salary, based on your rating.

The role

The school is recruiting across a range of specialist subjects and is particularly keen to hear from teachers ready to grow into leadership. Whether you are a creative Art teacher, a Computing specialist with a flair for AI, an ICT practitioner, or an experienced educator ready to lead a department, there is a role being built for you.

  • Subjects in scope: Art, Computing, Information Technology (ICT), Artificial Intelligence, Business Studies and Inclusion.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons in your subject, engaging students aged 11 to 18 across Grades 5 to 12.
  • Contribute to the school's growing international pathway, including IGCSE provision in senior grades.
  • For Head of Department candidates: lead your subject team, drive curriculum development, manage department performance and represent your subject at senior leadership level.
  • Collaborate across departments on interdisciplinary projects and whole-school initiatives.
  • Participate in the school's CPD programme and contribute to the professional development of colleagues.
  • Maintain strong parent communication and engagement.

What you must bring

  • Degree in your specialist subject area or a closely related field — minimum 2:1 (a 2:2 is considered where a postgraduate qualification has been achieved).
  • Professional teaching qualification — BEd or subject degree plus PGCE.
  • Current SACE registration.
  • Minimum 3 years of classroom experience in your subject.
  • Native or highly fluent English — the medium of instruction is English and verbal communication clarity is essential.
  • For HOD roles: demonstrable experience of leading a team, managing curriculum delivery and driving student outcomes.

Advantageous

  • Experience teaching a British curriculum, IB or other recognised international curriculum (Cambridge, IEB). Other international curricula considered.
  • IGCSE or A-Level teaching experience in your subject.
  • Prior experience working in the UAE, GCC or an international school environment.
  • For Computing and ICT: experience integrating AI tools, coding platforms or digital design into classroom delivery.
  • For Art: a portfolio of your own practice and experience of exhibition or project-based learning.

Safeguarding: Our client is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, police clearance, qualification attestation and administrative clearances.
