SMEC is recruiting for a Senior Inspector/Section Engineer (TBM) to support the Polihali Transfer Tunnel project in the Lesotho Highlands. You will inspect TBM construction activities and verify compliance with contract documents, drawings and specifications.

The incumbent must have at least 5 years of tunnelling and civil engineering experience and be able to work independently as well as in a team within a multinational project environment.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng or BTech or National Diploma in Civil Engineering; water and tunnelling knowledge preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in a similar role or on related projects.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsabilités

• Inspect works to ensure compliance with contract documents and standards.
• Oversee TBM construction activities and progress per specifications.
• Record findings in daily diaries and communicate discrepancies to engineers.
• Ensure safe execution of works by contractor and sub-contractors.
