Job summary

SydSen Recruit is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead the tax compliance team for a diverse client portfolio and work with the larger tax group to meet deadlines.

The ideal candidate will hold an undergraduate degree or equivalent, have strong SARS eFiling knowledge, and possess tax compliance experience. Articles are preferable; Tax Practitioner registration is advantageous; GreatSoft and BSharp experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or similar qualification is required.
• Strong working knowledge of SARS eFiling is essential.
• Experience in tax compliance is required.
• Experience managing a tax client portfolio is advantageous.
• Registration as a Tax Practitioner is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit income tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts.
• Respond to SARS queries, verifications and correspondence.
• Ensure all tax submissions and compliance matters are up to date.
• Manage client matters on SARS eFiling.
• Bill clients for tax services rendered.
• Assist with general tax compliance matters as required.
• Manage and maintain a portfolio of tax clients.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join a professional tax team and manage the tax compliance requirements for a portfolio of clients.

The successful candidate will work closely with the broader tax team and other Tax Managers to ensure that all client tax matters are handled accurately, efficiently and within required deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit income tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts
• Respond to SARS queries, verifications and correspondence
• Ensure all tax submissions and compliance matters are kept up to date
• Manage client matters on SARS eFiling
• Bill clients for tax services rendered
• Assist with general tax compliance matters as required
• Manage and maintain a portfolio of tax clients

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant undergraduate degree or similar qualification
• Strong working knowledge of SARS eFiling
• Previous experience in tax compliance
• Experience managing a tax client portfolio advantageous
• Previous articles preferable
• Registration as a Tax Practitioner preferable
• GreatSoft experience advantageous
• Exposure to BSharp advantageous
