Job summary

Express Employment Professionals Vaal Triangle is seeking a Systems Developer and Implementation Specialist for a 6-month fixed-term contract to modernise internal systems. The role covers replacing an Access-based system, enhancing a Supabase platform, data migration and training staff for new solutions.

The candidate will design replacement databases, develop inventory and asset-management modules, implement security and workflows, and ensure deployment success with documented processes.

Qualifications

• Practical SQL, PostgreSQL and relational database design experience.
• Experience with Supabase or a comparable cloud backend platform.
• Web application development and API integration experience.
• Experience migrating data from Microsoft Access or similar legacy systems.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted or Vibe Coding tools such as Lovable, Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT.
• Experience with authentication, permissions, testing, deployment and reporting.
• Strong business-process analysis, communication and user-training skills.

Responsibilities

• Legacy System Replacement: assess and replace the Access system with a modern SQL-based or cloud solution.
• Document workflows, map processes, design replacement architecture.
• Migrate and validate historical data; rebuild workflows, forms and dashboards.
• Implement security, access control, backup and recovery measures.
• Operational Platform Development: extend Supabase-based platform with inventory, asset and job management modules.
• Develop APIs, integrate systems, and manage source code with Git.
• Testing, rollout and training: conduct tests, deploy modules, support users and provide documentation.
• Documentation and handover: maintain architecture docs, permissions and deployment procedures.
