Job summary

Constantia, Western Cape-based client seeks a Systems Analyst to join the IT/Finance team on a permanent basis. You will monitor system health, data integrity and support data-driven decision making.

You will engage with business users to identify data integration needs, test instrument types, analyze system behaviour and collaborate with vendors to optimise system changes and controls.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Accounting, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant tech/systems or financial services experience.
• Exposure to programming, scripting or technical system configuration.
• Experience analysing system behaviour and improving IT systems.
• Ability to investigate and resolve complex technical problems.
• Strong understanding of data integrity and system controls.

Job description

My client based in Constantia, Western Cape is currently looking for a Systems Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis.

IT / FINANCE

Responsibilities

• Monitor the overall health and performance of systems on a daily basis.
• Monitor, maintain and improve daily system controls.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of business and market data.
• Engage with business users to identify, source and manage new data integration requirements.
• Test new instrument types and validate end-to-end system integrity.
• Test and recreate system calculations to verify the accuracy and functionality of financial systems.
• Analyse system behaviour and identify potential issues or inconsistencies.
• Implement system configuration changes that affect application views, functionality and behaviour.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with vendors and IT implementation teams to implement system changes and enhancements.
• Perform system configuration changes in line with business requirements.
• Provide technical support to the Investment Management Team and assist with resolving system-related issues.

Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant degree or diploma, preferably in Engineering, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a technology, systems or financial services environment.
• Exposure to programming, scripting or technical system configuration.
• Experience analysing system behaviour and identifying opportunities to improve IT systems and processes.
• Demonstrated ability to investigate and solve complex technical and system-related problems.
• Strong understanding of system functionality, data integrity and system controls.

Advantageous

• Experience with order management or trading systems.
• Experience with unit trust or fund accounting systems.
• Experience in financial data analysis.
• Knowledge of financial/market instruments, including Fixed Income.
