Job summary

Pick n Pay is seeking a Sushi Production role in Gqeberha to produce sushi according to the weekly plan while ensuring quality and safety. You will follow procedures to minimize waste, maintain hygiene, and support promotional readiness with the Sushi Chef.

The ideal candidate has Grade 12, experience cutting fish, and strong knowledge of fish products, with clear English communication to collaborate across the team.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or higher.
• Experience in cutting and filleting fish.
• Demonstrated ability in preparing all fish-related products.
• Broad knowledge of fish species.
• Ability to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Production according to the production plan.
• Follow production plan to drive sales growth and minimize waste weekly.
• Prepare sushi recipes as per plan.
• Maintain clean work environment at all times.
• Support sales, turnover and gross margin targets.
• Coordinate readiness of upcoming promotions with the Sushi Chef.
• Assist with monthly stock takes.
• Conduct waste scanning daily.
• Adhere to food safety procedures and maintain hygiene standards.
• Maintain cold chain at all times and prevent cross contamination.
• Demonstrate self-management and uphold PnP values.
• Stay up to date with new legislation and developments.
• Take ownership of tasks and respond to feedback positively.
