You will guide projects through concept, detailed design, commissioning, and operational support while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

Competenze

About the Role

Our client seeks a seasoned Substation Engineer to join their critical infrastructure team based in Welkom . This role is essential for the design, construction, and maintenance of electrical substations, ensuring the safe and reliable transmission and distribution of power. You will be involved in all phases of substation projects, from initial concept and detailed design through to commissioning and operational support. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of electrical substations, including switchgear, transformers, busbars, and protection systems.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and construction packages.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of substation equipment and systems.
• Perform technical reviews and quality assurance checks on engineering designs and construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing substation assets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in substation engineering, covering design and project execution.
