Job summary

Hatch is seeking a highly motivated Study Manager to join our Metals Project Development team in Johannesburg. You will provide management, technical leadership and world-class design expertise across the early study phases (FEL1, FEL2, FEL3, FEED, pre-feasibility or feasibility).

You will develop pursuits, manage engagements, and lead multidisciplinary teams, ensuring studies stay on time and within budget while embedding safety and value optimization throughout the process.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in managing studies or projects in mining/metals
• Strong project management fundamentals incl. earned value management
• Excellent stakeholder engagement across diverse teams and clients
• Proven leadership and ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams
• Capable of handling high-pressure environments and complex technical details
• Experience with NI 43-101 and S-K 1300 is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage studies across FEL1 to feasibility phases
• Develop project scopes, estimates, schedules and budgets
• Manage progress measurement and delivery systems
• Oversee multidisciplinary teams across engineering, controls, procurement, construction and environment
• Embed value optimization, design reviews and risk analyses
• Ensure compliance with standards, enviro objectives, quality, and safety
• Foster client communication and stakeholder engagement
• Collaborate with regional/global leadership to develop proposals and presentations
