Job summary

The University of the Free State invites applications for a Clinical/ Counselling Psychologist (post level 8) at the Bloemfontein campus. The role focuses on individual and group psychotherapy, career and academic counselling, and crisis intervention for students.

You will collaborate with Health and Wellness Centre staff, contribute to workshops, and support student development within a dynamic university setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counselling/Clinical Psychology (NQF Level 9).
• Active registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in Counselling/Clinical Psychology (attach proof).
• Minimum one year of experience working therapeutically with students in Higher Education or with young adults.

Responsibilities

• Act in accordance with HPCSA guidelines and scope of practice.
• Provide individual psychotherapy, group counselling, career counselling and academic support.
• Participate in crisis intervention programmes.
• Create developmental workshops for students.
• Liaise with university departments and healthcare professionals.
• Maintain client records, perform case management and admin tasks.
• Market Student Counselling & Development services.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
• Engage with external stakeholders and contribute to departmental strategic areas.
