Placements24 is seeking a skilled Structural Mechanical Engineer to contribute to Upington projects in the Northern Cape. The role focuses on the mechanical aspects of structural integrity for equipment supports, foundations, and large-scale installations, applying engineering principles to ensure safety and efficiency.

You will perform FE analysis, design structural elements to codes (SANS, AISC), and work with civil/structural teams in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a strong emphasis on structural analysis.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design related to mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) for structural modeling and analysis.
• Solid understanding of material properties, stress analysis, and load calculations.
• Familiarity with relevant structural design codes and standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating with site and remote teams.
