Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Structural Engineering Specialist for our Centurion, Gauteng office. You will oversee structural integrity and design across large projects, acting as the technical authority on structural matters and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires a Master’s in Structural Engineering, Pr Eng with ECSA, and 10+ years of design/analysis experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related field
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is mandatory
• 10+ years of experience in structural design and analysis
• Experience with structural analysis/design software (SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, Revit Structure)
• Knowledge of concrete, steel, timber and masonry design principles
• Experience managing structural components of large projects
• Strong site supervision and report-writing ability
• Based in Centurion or willing to relocate to Centurion, Gauteng

About the Role

Our client, a prestigious engineering firm renowned for its innovative structural solutions, is seeking a dedicated Structural Engineering Specialist to join their established office in Centurion, Gauteng. This role is critical for overseeing the structural integrity and design aspects of large-scale construction projects, ranging from high-rise buildings to complex industrial facilities. You will be the technical authority on structural matters, ensuring all designs meet rigorous safety, performance, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of material science, structural analysis, and construction methodologies. This position requires a hands‑on approach, involving close collaboration with architects, project managers, and construction teams on‑site. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design for various building and infrastructure projects.
• Perform advanced structural analysis using sophisticated software tools.
• Develop and review structural drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Ensure designs comply with the National Building Regulations and relevant South African standards.
• Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.

• Mentor and guide junior structural engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience specifically in structural engineering design and analysis.
• Extensive experience with structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, Revit Structure).
• In-depth knowledge of concrete, steel, timber, and masonry design principles.
• Proven experience in managing structural engineering components of large construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction practices and site supervision.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and resolve complex structural challenges.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Centurion, Gauteng.
