Responsibilities

• Form part of an existing structural engineering design office.

• Prepare reports for all project stages from inception to close-out.
• Assist Project Leader with contract/project management and client interactions.
• Prepare tender documentation including specifications, BOQ and drawings.

• Job purpose: BVi Consulting Engineers Western Cape (Pty) Ltd has a vacancy for a Structural Engineer in their Cape Town office. • Location: Cape Town

Key Responsibilities:

• Form part of an existing structural engineering design office.
• Planning, identifying, and designing structural-related infrastructure and buildings.
• Preparation of reports for all stages of project implementation, including inception, feasibility/ business plans, concept and viability, design development, tender and procurement, close-out, etc.
• Assist Project leader with overall contract/project management, including interaction with clients, contractors & other stakeholders, attendance of progress meetings, preparation of payment certificates, dealing with contractual claims, etc.
• Preparation of tender documentation, including specification writing, bill of quantities and drawings
• Must have BEng or BSc Eng degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum of 1 – 3 years post-graduate relevant experience in the structural engineering environment
• Strong teamwork skills required
• Proficient in English reading and writing
• Must have good report writing skills
• Work well under pressure
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must have proficient experience with the following Computer Software Programs:
  • AutoCad
  • Revit
  • Prokon
  • MS Office Suite.
